A license may be awarded to students who satisfy the following:
1. Student has achieved the appropriate rank level. That is, Nidan or Sandan for Shoden Menkyo (Level I), and Yodan or Godan for Chuden Menkyo (Level II). For Menkyo Kaiden (Level III) a student must have achieved at least the rank of Rokudan.
2. Student has teaching experience
3. Student demonstrates effective teaching ability
4. Student demonstrates loyalty to the system and the sensei
5. Student is committed to teaching and passing on the philosophy, techniques and strategies of Wa Shin Ryu Jujutsu in their purest form
6. Student is committed to adhering to the integrity of the system
7. Student wears the Wa Shin Ryu tattoo on left forearm
8. Student must be of impeccable character
9. To achieve Menkyo Kaiden a student must have achieved the status of Uchideshi
NOTE: Dan ranks are minimal prerequisites, only. Uchideshi status is NOT required to receive a teaching license. Students who do not continue to practice, study, maintain contact with their Sensei or fail to remain true to the system by switching arts and/or accepting rank from an instructor in another jujutsu system will forfeit their tTeaching License (where appropriate) and may not teach Wa Shin Ryu Jujutsu.
