To qualify you are expected to be engaged in a primarily traditional, or traditionally-based Asian martial art (primary focus should be combat/self defense but not sport competition) and hold the rank of nidan (or equivalent).

Sensei Brett Denison holds a Menkyo Okuden in Senshin Ryu Jujutsu and is the Chief Instructor of the Mizukan Dojo. Sensei Denison also holds a Menkyo in Yamauchi-ha Muso Jikiden Eishin-ryu Iaijutsu and is Shibucho for Colorado for the Komei Jyuku.
